Jinglicious Video Contest
We ran a successful video jingle contest on Facebook for Welch's Fruit Snacks. Fans submitted a "jinglicious" video for the chance to win an iPad and $1,000. Andy Johnson was the fans #1 pick and was ultimately selected by judges at Welch's Fruit Snacks as the winner. Here are some of the entries. As our Alex Poulos wrote in a blog commentary, LaunchPad helps clients beat the recession with "contests, coupons, comedy."

Producing a gala event at BCEC
We helped stage "The Annual Kenneth B. Schwartz Compassionate Healthcare Dinner" at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Dinner guests included over 2,000 leaders from hospitals, health plans, biotech, pharma and medical device industries. LaunchPad worked with Stone Communications to create beautiful staging décor and a two-screen AV presentation. This is the biggest fundraiser for The Schwartz Center, with all funds going to their great programs. We were proud to help this worthy cause.

What do mouthwash, BBQ and candy have in common?
We're pleased to announce that ACT mouthwash has awarded us their web design and development! We are excited to undertake new web positioning for this leading OTC brand. We've also been awarded web design and repositioning for Open Pit Barbecue Sauce, building on our six-year relationship with this popular brand. On a spooky note, we're doing a Halloween engagement for Promotion In Motion – a micro-site contest featuring four of their candies: Sour Jacks, Sqworms, Cookie Dough, and Sun-Maid Chocolate Raisins. Excuse us, we're going to take a snacks break now...

No Summer Slowdown
We launched the "Jinglicious" video contest for Welch's Fruit Snacks. If you have some musical talent and would like a chance to win $1,000 or an iPad, enter now. We also launched "Farmer's Garden by Vlasic," which introduces a new line of farm fresh artisanal pickles. The site features a "farm to school project" and the "Tastebuds Blog" for chefs and foodies, which has some very creative recipes. Speaking of farm-fresh products, we created a video for "Keep Local Farms" that tells the story of how New England dairy farmers produce the wholesome milk we take for granted. "From farm to you" was featured in a special event at the Big E.

Health, Wealth, and Hungry Heroes
June was busy here at LPM HQ. We completed a series of flash-based animations for Liberty Mutual in support of their health and wellness efforts. We launched a new, improved Hungry-Man website that features "Hungry Heroes" – Genghis Khan, Davy Crockett and Leonardo da Vinci. (We're proud to say that it's our 6th year of working with the H-M brand team!) On the local front, we launched a site for Highland Wealth Management, a financial services firm. And we launched a new sweeps for Sour Jacks candy. The lucky winners will be flown to this year's X Games. Sweeet! I mean, sour!

Alex Poulos has op-ed in the Boston Globe
"'Mad Men' of the future!" Alex wrote a Boston Globe op-ed about trends in advertising that will change our world. The ad biz will become more interactive and integrated – good. But it will also become more invasive and intrusive –bad. With tongue in cheek, Alex predicts some funny, scary advertising: 3-D, sure… but also 4-D, 5-D, 6-D. Read it here and check out other commentaries by Alex on our LaunchPad blog.

Off to the races...
We created a new site for Armour-Star, the canned food company. It's bigger, bolder – with an easier to navigate interface, improved SEO, and a deeper recipe section. But it is promotion of their winning NASCAR teams that pumps up the adrenaline of visiting fans. On a sweet & sour note, we're also underway with an online engagement for Sour Jacks candy. Enter the contest for a chance to win $500 "Fandago Bucks" -- which pays for a lot of movies. Speaking of movies, our own Jacob Eidsmoe was in Los Angeles, directing production of a sales video for Ventana Medical Systems Inc.

March went by in a flash
We created flash-based animations for Liberty Mutual – two interactive games to help train their employees on proper procedure and protocols. We did postproduction for a series of promotional videos for Stop & Shop and Giant grocery stores to raise funds and awareness for hospitals dedicated to saving children with cancer. We also launched a new website for TwoCPack, an innovative company near Boston that provides high-quality packaging solutions for medical, food and beverage, and consumer goods. They are widely known for their creative designs and renewable packaging. Yes, we've been busy... but always happy to work with great companies like these.

Staged WSM in New Orleans
We didn't mind leaving the ice and snow of Boston... A LaunchPad team enjoyed staging another World Sales Meeting for Abbott Point of Care in the great city of New Orleans ("N'awlins"). We had a New Orleans theme for the overall show, décor, presentations. In addition to the general session, we staged 13 breakout rooms and a very entertaining Awards Night. The whole event was inspirational, inspired by a great city. APOC managers said they've had wonderful feedback from the over 300 who attended.

We are creating a new website for WearFirst, a young men's contemporary clothing designer. We're designing a new site for Sun-Maid Chocolate Raisins, which will feature recipes, tips, and a tantalizing contest. And we are developing a social media strategy for Welch's Fruit Snacks (addictively delicious, by the way). Recently we completed a new website for MEP Consulting, a leading management consulting firm in Boston. We produced an annual sales meeting video for Keep Local Farms. And we’ve made numerous site updates to Vlasic, Mrs. Paul's, Van de Kamp’s and Aunt Jemima Frozen.

The site is built with a CMS behind it for quick updates and is SEO optimized. Fun contests and consumer-friendly programs are on the way.

Cookie Dough on the Go!
We launched a new website for "chocolate chip cookie dough miniatures" for our candy client, Promotion In Motion: www.cookiedoughminis.com. Notice the chocolate chip coloration of the site. Now that’s appetizing design! Here’s their pitch…see if you can resist it: "Like the cookie dough you’ve always loved -- Mixin’ Bowl Lickin’ Good." If Don Draper of Mad Men came up with that prose, he would be happy, not mad.

Launch of SourJacks.com
Mouth-puckering news: We launched a new funtastic website for kids and teens - SourJacks.com. It has games and offers "fun infusions with other foods" (ice cream, popcorn, party mix). What can you do with their great flavors - cherry, lemon, orange, lime, and watermelon!? Online contests will be coming soon, including a chance to enter "Pucker Face Hall of Fame" by sending a wacky, fun photo of your pucker face - while enjoying SourJacks candy of course! We had real fun creating the mouth-puckering, smile-inducing site. It was nice living in Candy Land for a while.

New Vlasic Website
Just launched new Vlasic.com site. We gave it more crunch! Our goal was to improve the brand's online image as well as overall architecture, navigation, code and SEO behind the site. The new site also introduces the new Vlasic stork - who looks more aerodynamic (for quicker delivery of pickles!?) and svelte (to remind us pickles are fat-free?). You’ll find lots of pickle recipes and snack tips. If you like contests, bookmark the site – new online contests are coming.

LaunchPad created a micro-site for the Duncan Hines® National Bake Sale Contest, which supports “Cupcakes for a Cause” to benefit CancerCare for Kids. Off to The Races – Creating a Sweeps Micro-Site.
LaunchPad created another sweepstakes site for Hungry-Man® frozen dinners. The “Lucky 07” sweeps has a car-racing theme, inspired by the “07” Richard Childress Racing® stock car and Clint Bowyer Racing ™. Hungry-Man enjoyed great success with last year’s “Fill ‘er up” sweepstakes -- effectively connecting with their younger male demos. We are not eligible for the sweepstakes prizes, of course, so we can’t win the all-expense-paid 3-day trip for two to the July 27th Indianapolis stock car race, plus VIP access to the pit crew, and $500. No prob, we’ll just watch the action on TV as we eat a Hungry-Man dinner and drink a cold one.

LaunchPad launches sticky site for Mrs. Butterworth’s and appetizing site for Swanson.
Swanson invented the first “TV Dinner” in 1953. Their site takes you back to the pop culture of those “happy days.” You can play the old “Pong” game at “go retro.” You’ll discover “Music for TV Dinners,” which is real and hilarious. And you can view a gallery of old Swanson print ads, which is a way to time-travel back to quaint advertising. Mrs. Butterworth’s website is thick, rich, buttery – no, wait, that’s her syrup. Well, the site reflects the sweet personality of the famous Mrs. Butterworth. To make visitors feel welcome, she has some fun features for kids - Mrs. B’s puzzle, and color-your-own-art.

"We wanted to build on the popularity of Vlasic pickles and the Vlasic stork, the iconic spokesbird". In the web audio, you hear the crunch of pickle-munching. There are pickle postcards you can forward to friends, Healthy Snack information and pickle-related recipes. The new Open Pit site has a very different style. Entering the homepage, you are greeted with dramatic special effects. The screen shakes, a bottle of Open Pit crashes down, followed by a pile of cash. The cash represents eight contest prizes of $5,000 each for best original recipes using any of the Open Pit sauces.
